The castle is located near the village of Hohenschwangau, close to Füssen in southern Bavaria, and can be reached by train, car, or tour bus.
Take a train to Füssen, then hop on a bus or taxi to Hohenschwangau village. From there, it’s a scenic walk or shuttle ride up to the castle.
Parking is available in Hohenschwangau. From the parking lot, walk uphill or take the shuttle bus to the castle entrance.
Regional buses run from Füssen to Hohenschwangau regularly throughout the day.
The walk from the ticket center to the castle takes about 30–40 minutes uphill, offering stunning views along the way.
